The original cottage was wrapped with straw bale and an addition was added to it. It is very close to the Passive House standard at only 20kWh/m2a.  Natural materials were used throughout including lime render and earth plaster. An efficient wood stove is connected to the hot water tank and radiant heating system for the home.
