This project transformed a round log sugar shack into a striking, year-round home while respecting its protected wetlands setting.

Working closely with local authorities, we secured permits to reuse the original log structure, adding exterior super-insulation to double the living space while maintaining the cabin’s rustic character. Inside, our interior design embraced the clients’ love of Tiffany glass, rich colours, and traditional design pieces, creating a whimsical, layered aesthetic we affectionately call “badass granny chic.”

Curved architectural details nod to the original round log walls, while high-end finishes and thoughtful layouts ensure modern comfort. The home reflects Stone’s Throw Design’s philosophy of balancing heritage, natural materials, and human experience.
