When a long-time client approached us to help realize her dream of opening a yoga studio, we embraced the opportunity to transform a former fireworks retail store into a warm, welcoming wellness space.

The single-storey brick building had fallen into disrepair — with a hazardous basement staircase, no secondary exit, and extensive code deficiencies. Complicating matters, the City of Toronto initially misinterpreted key building code requirements, threatening to derail the project. Working closely with a former chief building official, we successfully navigated the process and achieved compliance without compromise.

The result is a 45-person hot yoga studio featuring a serene reception area, changing rooms, and upgraded structural and mechanical systems that exceed code requirements. Every inch of the existing footprint was optimized for flow and function.

Designed in collaboration with Invision Design, the studio embodies calm, energy, and transformation — much like the practice it hosts.
